Question about The Poppit Show!

  • I purchased the CD Rom for The Poppit Show. Installed it on my computer, everything was great. Played the game, opened some doors. I recently upgraded and got a new computer. Installed The Poppit Show! on the new system and .... all my doors that were previously opened are closed once again. It wants me to start at ground zero. I know my way around a computer, and I know there has to just be a file I need to copy from the old computer to the new one - I just don't know which one. I tried asking Pogo Technical Support, but they apparently don't know how to read. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks  :)

  • SeleneTRD, unfortunately, you must start over. You will not lose your rank or any mini items you've unlocked but they didnt make the game in a way that you can reinstall it and keep your progress. It happened to me too. :N

  • Unlike regular Pogo games where you can play on any computer and still progress in ranks, the PogoToGo games are only for the computer that you downloaded it on, so unfortunately if you use another computer I dont think it will keep track of your progress (I could be wrong here,if I am please let us know) It is my understanding that the Togo games use a different type of system then the reg. Pogo games.

  • WOW - good to know.  I never realized that.  I have Mahjong Gardens (way old one).  That explains what happened to me then.

  • Just thought I would let you both know that you are correct - there isn't any way (at least that I could find) to get the progress back. I tried burning the file that was on the other computer, and copying it to the new one in place of the current installation, and it still started me at the first door. Anyway, I want to thank you both for actually responding with a real answer - you both should be working for "Technical" Support for Pogo. I tried asking the same thing to their support, and I got some BS responce asking for screen shots and what my error message was.

    Thanks again! ;D

Okay - I FOUND IT! And, I must say - I am quite pleased with myself. Granted - I've already opened all the doors (and then some) that were opened on the other computer by just playing the game... but - the file is called "player.prod.dat". I'm pretty sure it's a registry key, it's located in the AppData file under Pogo Games.

Anyway - I just wanted to post to let you guys know just in case someone else ever has this problem.

  • Thanks, Selene! I was just thinking about this the other day...We had our laptop wiped due to a virus, and obviously, Poppit! went with it....I'll definitely use this info when we get it back on here and running! Thanks again!  <3

  • When I back up my Deluxe games (all 3), I always back up these directories (this is on Windows XP):

    Lottso:
    Application Data\Pogo Games\lottso2\Cache
    Application Data\Pogo Games\lottso2\Properties
    Program Files\Oberon Media\Lottso! Deluxe\Properites

    Mahjong:
    Application Data\Pogo Games\mahjong3\Properties
    Application Data\Pogo Games\mahjong3\Cache
Program Files\Oberon Media\Mahjong Garden Deluxe\Properties  (although you only need a few of the files in this directory, I'm not sure which ones so I just backed up and restored the whole directory)

    Poppit Show:
    Application Data\Pogo Games\poppit3\Properties
    Program Files\Oberon Media\The Poppit! Show\Properties

I've backed up and restored twice with Lottso and Poppit and once with Mahjong and it all worked great.  I hope this helps.. no clue about Macs or PCs with Vista, though.. sorry.

  • I have another question about the poppit show. I downloaded the upgrade, but when I go to play all my doors are open and there is nothing new to play. What am I missing?

  • Have you already gotten to the final door before the upgrade? I dont think there is anything "new" to play once you've finished the first ranks. You just continue to pop balloons and gain the additional ranks. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
