Dice Derby Question Please

  • How in the world do you get the Grand Prix Badge ~ Win 600 or more tokens 10 times this week?

At first I was playing 6 lap races, won the race, got a 500 jackpot spin ~ didn't get it.  Then decided to do 9 lap races.

I won a 9 lap race, got 1201 points, then got a 300 jackpot spin and still didn't get it.  I don't understand what I have to do to win this badge.  I keep winning the races, but no progress on badge.

    Any ideas?

This badge and one other are all I have left in the 2003 badge album, so I have to get this badge to finish it.  HELP!!!!  Thank you!

  • If you play 6 laps, you'll need a spin of 600. In 9 laps you would need 500 on the spin as you're given 100 tokens for winning.

  • There was a recent letter to the editor in Pogo about this (but of course I can't find it now), and they offered the hint that the chances were greater in the 6-lap race.

Good luck, Belle ... It's a real toughie!

  • So the points you get in the rounds doesn't matter, other than getting you a win.  It's just the jackpot spin I'm going for, right?  Thanks for the info.  I was so confused.   :D

  • The following was in yesterday's LTTE:

More on 2003 Dice Derby Grand Prix Badge!

Regarding the letter that someone wrote about the 2003 Dice Derby badge, your response was to do the 9 lap games and that you could activate the same personal challenge the next week.

I myself have tried this badge over & over on the 9 lap games and it is still very difficult to do because the spins are not 600 or more most of the time. As far as activating the badge the next week, that's not really helpful because you get frustrated that you didn't get the badge the week before.

I know you will say that we don't have to get every badge but it is nice to fill the books. That is the only badge I have left in the 2003 book.

Editor: Yes, this is one of the more painful challenges we've had, and we will not be changing it. So, you're only hope *is* to keep trying. Good luck!

    Hope this helps you Belle.

  • The spins are better in the 9 lap games. I got it on the second try by playing the bots as they tend to score worse letting you have more wins.
So many books, so little time

  • I got the badge doing the 9-lap races against the bots also, but I activated the challenge many times before I finally got it.  This is probably not a good time to work on it, because it takes a lot of time to complete.  Expect many many games you win to get only a 300 spin.  I would suggest starting it when you can devote the time to it.  And you could always invite some friends to play who (cough cough) aren't such good drivers.
